Cannabis Testing Services You Can Rely On
Our lab completes routine testing for heavy metals in cannabis plant material and cannabis oil through our regular testing process.

Method Validation for Cannabis Products
Cannabis products, such as edibles and topicals, need to be tested using validated methods, as per Health Canada regulations. We can work with you to complete the necessary validation, provide you with the validation reports and provide on-going test services to meet your needs. Learn more about method validation.
Submitting Samples
- For the full testing suite, 50 grams of dried cannabis is recommended.
- For cannabis oils, the recommended sample size is 30 mL.
- Tests for oil rancidity require substantially more oil; the recommended sample volume is 100 mL of oil.

- Sample analysis is normally complete within 5 to 7 business days. For faster turnaround, a rush service is available for an additional charge.
- Samples are held for a minimum of 30 days after results are reported. To comply with regulatory requirements, all samples are destroyed 90 days after reporting.

Yes, hemp can be tested to assess THC and CBD content as well as for other cannabinoids and various contaminants.
1. Take a representative sample of the product you want tested. Sample material submitted will be homogenized and analyzed. The lab does not remove stems, seeds, etc.

The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is licensed to conduct analytical testing for cannabis and is also considered a government laboratory per Health Canada and the Cannabis Act.
